CDC officials said on Monday that the recommended period for individuals to isolate after testing positive for Covid-19 is now just five days if they don't show any symptoms, and at least five additional days if they do.

The CDC also reduced the quarantine period for those who have been immunised and have been exposed to the virus to a shorter five-day period.
