A number of participants in the Miss World 2021 competition have tested positive for Covid. The statement came only hours before the planned commencement of the event on Thursday. In Puerto Rico, where the show's finale was supposed to take place, the candidates are presently confined to their hotel rooms.
There were 17 positive COVID-19 tests among the candidates and staff.
The Puerto Rico Coliseum Jose Miguel Agrelot will reschedule the finale within the next 90 days.
