An American football club located in New Orleans, Louisiana, the New Orleans Saints compete in the National Football League (NFL).
In its first eight seasons, the club played its home games at Tulane Stadium before moving to Caesars Superdome in 1975.
As an expansion franchise in 1967, the New Orleans Saints were founded by John W. Mecom Jr., David Dixon, and New Orleans. They are called after the spiritual song "When the Saints Go Marching In" and the jazz music tradition of New Orleans.
