new orleans saints

An American football club located in New Orleans, Louisiana, the New Orleans Saints compete in the National Football League (NFL).

In its first eight seasons, the club played its home games at Tulane Stadium before moving to Caesars Superdome in 1975.

As an expansion franchise in 1967, the New Orleans Saints were founded by John W. Mecom Jr., David Dixon, and New Orleans. They are called after the spiritual song "When the Saints Go Marching In" and the jazz music tradition of New Orleans.

The team's first trip to the Super Bowl, in Super Bowl XLIV, was in 2009, when they earned their first championship.

The New Orleans Saints and the New York Jets are the only NFL teams to win their only Super Bowl participation.
