The Kansas City Chiefs' quarterback, Patrick Lavon Mahomes II, is an American football quarterback

He first played college football and collegiate baseball at Texas Tech University. Following his sophomore year, he dropped baseball to concentrate entirely on football

He was taken 10th overall by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2017 NFL Draft.

In 2018 season, Mahomes passed for 5,097 yards, 50 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. 



It was he and Peyton Manning that threw 50 touchdown passes and 5,000 yards in one season, respectively, in the NF.


Mahomes led the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl appearance in 50 years during the 2019–20 playoffs

Mahomes was given the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player for his performance, the second African-American quarterback and youngest overall to do so
