Deepfake technology, which leverages artificial intelligence to create hyper-realistic videos, has emerged as a new frontier in digital deception. Among its many malicious applications, deepfake financial scams are particularly insidious, targeting investors with fraudulent investment opportunities. This blog explores a common attack scenario where scammers use deepfake videos of trusted financial advisors to swindle unsuspecting victims. We delve into the mechanics of such scams, the impact on victims, and the methods scammers use to create and distribute these deceptive messages. Additionally, we provide practical advice on recognizing deepfake scams, protecting investments, and steps to take if victimized. By raising awareness and promoting proactive security measures, we aim to equip readers with the knowledge to safeguard their financial interests in an increasingly digital world [1-6].
